Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
-
No, you don’t need a referral to book an appointment with a Registered Massage Therapist in BC. However, some extended health insurance plans may require one for reimbursement — call your insurance provider to find out the details of your specific plan.
-
Yes! We offer direct billing for ICBC and most major extended health insurance providers. Just bring your insurance details to your first appointment and we’ll take care of the rest.
-
Most extended health insurance plans in BC cover massage therapy provided by a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). Coverage amounts and limits vary, so it’s best to check with your provider. We also offer direct billing for most major insurers, which can save you time and out-of-pocket costs.
-
Yes, absolutely. All of our practitioners are Registered Massage Therapists, licensed with the College of Complimentary Health Professionals of British Columbia (CCHPBC), which was formerly the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia (CMTBC). They’ve completed extensive training and are required to meet ongoing education and professional standards.

It depends on your goals and condition. Some people come weekly or biweekly for acute issues or injury rehab, while others come monthly for maintenance, stress relief, or to prevent recurrence of chronic pain. Your RMT can help you decide on a treatment frequency that fits your needs, treatment goals, and lifestyle.

You can book online anytime through our website — it’s quick and easy! You can also try calling for same-day appointments.

Absolutely! Prenatal massage is safe during all trimesters and can be incredibly helpful for managing discomfort, improving sleep, and supporting your changing body during pregnancy.
-
Yes! Massage therapy is highly effective for managing chronic pain, recovering from injuries, and improving mobility. Our RMTs are trained to work with a variety of conditions, and we’ll collaborate with your care team if needed.
-
We focus on evidence-informed, therapeutic massage designed to support your health, recovery, and long-term well-being. RMTs offer a range of treatments tailored to your individual needs and goals, including:
Deep Tissue Massage – Targets deeper muscle layers to help release chronic tension, reduce pain, and improve mobility.
Clinical Therapeutic Massage – Addresses specific conditions such as chronic pain, postural dysfunction, or repetitive strain injuries. Often includes assessment and a treatment plan.
Myofascial Release – A slow and sustained technique that works on connective tissue (fascia) to release restrictions and improve movement.
Relaxation Massage – Soothing, slower-paced treatment that calms the nervous system and reduces stress, while still providing therapeutic benefit.
Prenatal Massage – Safe, supportive care for all stages of pregnancy, helping to relieve discomfort, improve sleep, and support the changing body.
Injury Rehabilitation – Massage to aid recovery from sprains, strains, motor vehicle accidents (ICBC), post-surgical healing, or athletic injuries.
Trigger Point Therapy – Focuses on releasing tight, hyperirritable spots in muscles that refer pain to other areas.
Joint Mobilizations & Passive Stretching – Often integrated into sessions to help improve joint function, alignment, and flexibility.
Our RMTs collaborate with you — and when helpful, with your broader care team — to help you move and feel better. Whether you’re managing a condition, recovering from an injury, or working on prevention and maintenance, we’re here to support your goals with personalized care.
-
We usually recommend starting with a 60-minute appointment for your first visit. This gives your RMT enough time for a brief intake (to go over your health history and goals) and still allows for a full, unhurried treatment.
That said, a 45-minute session can also be a great option — especially if you’re focusing on a specific area or just want to try it out. Either way, your massage will be tailored to your comfort and needs!
-
You can undress to your comfort level. Most people undress down to their underwear. During the treatment, you'll be covered with a sheet and blanket/towel the entire time, and only the area being treated will be uncovered — this is called professional draping, and it ensures your privacy and comfort throughout the session.
-
Yes, we do! Massage therapy can be incredibly beneficial for children and teens, and our RMTs are experienced in providing age-appropriate treatments.
Kids may come for massage to help with things like:
Growing pains
Sports injuries or muscle tension from activities
Posture issues (especially with more screen time these days)
Stress or anxiety
Sleep troubles
Relaxation and general body awareness/wellness
Headaches or jaw tension (TMJ)
Sessions are always adapted to your child’s comfort and needs. We’ll check in regularly, and a parent or guardian is welcome to be present during the treatment. Massage can be a great tool to support your child’s physical and emotional wellness as they grow.

Yes. We provide treatment for clients recovering from motor vehicle accidents, and several RMTs offer direct billing to ICBC. Massage therapy can be a helpful part of recovery from whiplash, soft tissue injuries, and postural imbalances following a crash. Contact us to find out which RMTs are currently accepting ICBC clients.
